INVERSE SPACE DESIGN PARADIGM
Inverse Space features two galaxies. The first, known as the Olde Kingdom, is a galaxy extremely similar to the Alpha Sector where they only developed Omega Technology. The second, known as the Neo Kingdom, is a galaxy extremely like the Omega Sector where they only developed Alpha Technology. Both galaxies can be thought of tangental dimensional offshoots of the original dimensions.
In order to leave room for growth, to make Inverse Space different from the original dimensions, and to make sure that Tactics turn out different in Inverse Space, heavy cruisers in both the Olde Kingdom and the Neo Kingdom will start off with Heavy Cruisers composed of 24 Warp, 4 Batteries, 2 Heavy Weapons, 1 Device or Supplemental Heavy Weapon, 6 PH-1 equivalents, and 24/20/18/18/18/20 Shields. There will be variations, of course, to make each empire unique, but this will be the base heavy cruiser mold. It is an Early Years Heavy Cruiser modified to fit G1 Level Weaponry. Most Inverse Space starships will also feature some kind of armor (in the beginning of the Timeline, at least).
As you can see, it will be quite easy to penetrate a heavy cruiser’s front shield, even with only two heavy weapons. However, the same could be said of an Alpha Sector heavy cruiser with a 30 front shield and 4 heavy weapons. Another consideration that must be taken into account is the lower number of internals. Battlefield Tactics in Inverse Space must be modified to account for this.
The original concept was for the Olde Kingdom and the Neo Kingdom to be separate, connected galaxies like the Alpha Sector and the Omega Sector. However, after giving it more thought, I decided it would be more interesting if the Olde Kingdom came before the Neo Kingdom and eventually evolved into it. Some of the Olde Kingdom empires may have actually survived into the Neo Kingdom, allowing for intriguing interactions between Olde and Neo.
This led me to another possibility. There could have been a galaxy before the Olde Kingdom and a galaxy after the Neo Kingdom. They could be known as the Ancient Kingdom and the Golden Kingdom. So the Cycle would have went from Instability (Ancient) to Stability (Olde) to Instability (Neo) to Stability (Golden).
The empires of the Olde Kingdom may have destroyed themselves in all out war, been crushed by a powerful invader, been wiped out by some kind of contagion, been destroyed by a natural galaxy-wide cataclysm, or any number of other possibiliteis. This would have allowed for the Neo Kingdom to later rise up and develop from the ashes of the Olde.
